2007 Sit A Thon
The 2007 Sit A Thon drew 31 sitters, many
from outside of Rhode Island to support the cause of the
American Cancer Society's
Camp
Hope. A full day of sitting, reading, games, sitting,
eating and some additional sitting allowed us to raise over
$5000 for Camp Hope, with records in sitters and donors (218!).
This generous support allows The Obscure Company to continue to
grow its Sit A Thon and raise more and more money for our
causes.
Highlights of the day included
surprisingly appreciated games of BINGO, a trivia contest,
visits from supporters, lunch cooked by Mr. Wayne Colwell, and a
visit from Thersesa Masnik, communications director of Camp
Hope. With the group games, friendly and enthusiastic
people and speeding dust throwing rangers, the day went by
surprisingly quickly.
The Obscure Company would like to thank
all our generous donors, with particular thank yous to:
Barbara McCrae- for the cool sit a thon
buttons and fruit salad.
Wayne Colwell - for grilling up burgers and dogs for 30 odd people.
Theresa Masnik and Camp Hope - For the shirts, hats and support.
Mr. Robert Douglass - for his continued, extremely generous support of
The Obscure Company and its causes.

A Sit A Thon History
2006
Sit A Thon: Goddard Memorial Park September 9, 2006
This year's
Sit-A-Thon was a smashing success! 28 sitters
and 3 helpers convened in the Goddard Park Carousel building with fat
pledge sheets in their hot little hands. These
thoughtful and hardworking sitters raised a new
Sit-A-Thon record for pledges to benefit
Camp Hope, a one week residential camp for children
with cancer and their siblings. Cindy the Camp
Hope coordinator came to the event to speak about the
camp and express her appreciation for all our efforts.
This year's Sit-A-Thon was more successful than all
previous, and we're all happy to hand it to
Camp Hope.

Our record 138 individual donors,
supporting our record 16 sitters, allowed us to
